Our Research

Our current research interests are in two areas:

1. Organic Chemistry: To develop novel synthetic methodology on C–H activation, a fast-growing field partially because it is Green Chemistry. We are exploring the C–H fluorination of arenes and heteroarenes using removable directing groups with preferable atom economy. Continuing our long-term interests, another on-going project is C–H activation of heterocycles, which are of paramount importance to drug discovery.

2.  Medicinal Chemistry: To discover new anti-cancer drugs by targeting both novel and proven mechanisms of action (MOA) such as the hedgehog signaling pathway.
